1 min read

Ward head of Fagge (A) Hassan Ahmad told Kano Focus that the
conversion would address the menace of drug abuse in the area.
Mr Ahmad said the cinema has not been functioning for some time
and has become a center of drug dealers.
“Plaza Cinema is well known as a hideout for notorious boys most
of whom come from different parts of Kano metropolis”, he said.

Mr Ahmad said residents have collaborated with police to rid the
area of drug pushers but they have failed to succeed.
Reacting to the plea, spokesperson of the National Drugs Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Sani Danwawo said the agency had
received the complaint and will take measures to arrest the
criminals.
Mr Danwawo urged Kano residents to always report any case of
drug abuse or trafficking to the NDLEA.
